Frequently asked questions about savings, interest and retirement calculators
What is the difference between APR and APY?
APR is the stated annual rate. APY includes compounding, so it shows the true yearly return on savings.
What does the Rule of 72 tell me?
Divide 72 by the annual rate of return for a rough estimate of the years needed to double your money.
Are retirement results guaranteed?
No. They project from the rates and contributions you enter. Real returns vary, so treat them as planning scenarios.
