Win rate calculator — sales, sports & trading
Free win rate calculator with three modes: sales & pipeline (wins, losses, optional no-decisions), sports & games (wins, losses, ties), and trading (winning trades vs total, optional breakeven win rate from risk/reward). Not the same as conversion rate or marketing CTR — see FAQs below.
What is win rate?
Win rate is the share of attempts that succeeded, expressed as a percentage. In sales, it is usually deals won ÷ total opportunities (including losses and sometimes no-decisions). In sports, it is wins ÷ games played, often counting ties as half a win. In trading, it is winning trades ÷ total trades.
Win rate ≠ conversion rate: conversion rate in marketing measures completions per click or visit — use our CPA calculator for cost per acquisition, not win rate.

Overall vs competitive win rate (sales)
Overall win rate = Wins ÷ (Wins + Losses + No-decisions) × 100. It reflects every opportunity that reached a closed stage in your funnel.
Competitive win rate = Wins ÷ (Wins + Losses) × 100 — it excludes stalled or “no decision” outcomes so you can judge head-to-head performance when a buyer actually chose.
Winning percentage with ties
MLB and NFL standings often use (Wins + 0.5 × Ties) ÷ Games × 100. The calculator shows both wins-only % and tie-adjusted % when you enter ties.
Example: 7 wins, 4 losses, 5 ties in 16 games → tie-adjusted winning percentage ≈ 59.38%.
Trading win rate and breakeven
With a fixed risk-to-reward ratio, breakeven win rate % ≈ 1 ÷ (1 + Reward ÷ Risk) × 100. Example: 1:2 reward-to-risk → breakeven ≈ 33.33% — you only need to win one in three trades to break even before costs.
Educational only — not investment advice. Commissions and slippage are not modeled in v1.
What is a good win rate?
Sales: indicative B2B ranges often fall near 20–30% overall; inbound opportunities can run higher. Sports: compare to league context, not a universal “good” %. Trading: a “good” win rate depends on reward/risk — lower win rates can still be profitable with larger winners.
Use benchmarks in the sales mode as directional context only; trend your own data quarter over quarter.

Win rate vs conversion rate and CTR
Win rate (this page) counts won vs lost competitive outcomes. Conversion rate in ads usually means conversions ÷ clicks or sessions. CTR is clicks ÷ impressions — see CTR calculator and ROAS calculator for funnel metrics.

Frequently asked questions about this win rate calculator
How do you calculate win rate?
Win rate % = (Wins ÷ Total attempts) × 100. In sales, total attempts usually means all closed opportunities (won, lost, and sometimes no-decision). In sports, total attempts is games played. In trading, it is total closed trades.
How do I calculate my sales win rate?
Divide deals won by total opportunities in the same period. Example: 30 wins out of 100 opportunities → 30% overall win rate. Use competitive win rate when you want to exclude no-decisions.
What is the difference between win rate and competitive win rate?
Overall win rate includes no-decisions. Competitive win rate uses only wins and losses: Wins ÷ (Wins + Losses) × 100.
What is a good win rate for sales?
Many B2B teams land near 20–30% overall; inbound and SMB motions can be higher. Compare to your own history and segment — enterprise cycles are often lower but higher value.
Is a 40% win rate good?
For B2B sales, 40% overall can be strong if your denominator includes all qualified opportunities. For trading, 40% can be excellent or mediocre depending on average win vs loss size — check breakeven win rate.
What is win rate vs close rate?
Teams use both terms for won deals ÷ opportunities. Always confirm whether “opportunities” includes losses only or also no-decisions and open pipeline.
How do you calculate winning percentage in sports?
Win % = Wins ÷ Games × 100. With ties: (Wins + 0.5 × Ties) ÷ Games × 100 for MLB-style standings.
What is a win/loss ratio?
Win/loss ratio = Wins ÷ Losses. A ratio above 1.0 means more wins than losses (win rate above 50% when there are no ties or no-decisions).
How do you calculate trading win rate?
Win rate % = (Winning trades ÷ Total trades) × 100. Use the Trading mode above and optional risk/reward for breakeven context.
What is breakeven win rate?
The minimum win rate needed to break even given your average reward vs risk: 1 ÷ (1 + Reward ÷ Risk) × 100 for fixed R:R strategies.
Is win rate the same as conversion rate?
No. Conversion rate in marketing is usually conversions per click or session. Win rate here means won vs lost outcomes in sales, sports, or trading.
How often should I measure win rate?
Track monthly for trends; judge quarter-over-quarter for sales. You need enough closed opportunities (often 20–30+) for a stable percentage.
Can I export win rate results?
Yes — use Export CSV or Export PDF after your calculation (no sign-up required).
