# Skyscraper Content Guide for Templates

How to apply the skyscraper technique to template page content blocks: outdo competitors in length and depth.

## Skyscraper for Templates

**Principle:** Create content that exceeds competitor average in length and depth. Use `competitive-depth-analysis.md` as the source of truth for targets.

### Targets

- **Length:** Aim for the upper end of the competitive range (e.g. 1,900–2,400 → aim for 2,100+)
- **Depth:** Cover all competitor H2s + 1–2 unique angles (ArbZG, Minijob, Ordio differentiators)
- **Structure:** Use tables, steps, lists – not walls of prose

- [ ] Cover all competitor H2 topics from competitor-analysis.json
- [ ] Add 1–2 unique angles (ArbZG compliance, Minijob-Grenzen, Ordio features)
- [ ] Meet or exceed target from competitive-depth-analysis.md
- [ ] Use structured formats: steps, tables, callouts, cards
- [ ] Integrate PAA questions in content or FAQ

## AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)

- **Answer-first:** 40–60 word direct answer below each H2
- **Structured:** Steps for how-to, tables for comparisons, lists for tips
- **Comprehensive:** Address the full question, not just a snippet

## Readability and Scannability

Users decide in seconds (Nielsen 2024); F-pattern scanning. Optimize for quick comprehension:

- **Paragraph length:** 40–80 words (2–4 lines); one idea per paragraph
- **H3 subheadings:** Every 2–4 paragraphs in complex blocks; break long lists into grouped sections
- **Bold key takeaways:** Skimmers should get the core message from bolded text alone
- **Chunking:** One explanatory sentence per 3 elaboration (1:3 ratio); reduce cognitive load

### Chunking Checklist

- [ ] No paragraph > 80 words (flag if > 100)
- [ ] H3 every 2–4 paragraphs when block has 4+ paragraphs or 6+ list items
- [ ] One idea per paragraph; front-load value in first sentence
- [ ] Bold key takeaways for skimmers

## GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)

- **Entity clarity:** Ordio, Arbeitszeitgesetz, Minijob – use consistent terms
- **Schema:** HowTo for step blocks; consider FAQ schema for PAA
- **Factual:** Specific numbers (520 Euro, 11h Ruhezeit, 4 Tage)
