# Rework Summary: Sabbatical (Sabbatjahr)

## Overview

Comprehensive analysis and targeted improvements to the lexikon post "Sabbatical (Sabbatjahr) – Definition & rechtliche Grundlagen". This was a patchwork rework addressing excerpt/content errors, meta alignment, typos, grammar, internal links reconciliation, and secondary keywords cleanup.

## Changes Implemented

### 1. Excerpt Fix (Critical)
- **Issue:** Excerpt contained wrong copy-paste: "Ordio - mehr Zeit für's Wesentliche Alles in einer App: Abwesenheiten, Schichtplanung und Zeiterfassung. .."
- **Fix:** Replaced with meta-aligned description: "Was ein Sabbatical ist und wie du es richtig planst. Alle Infos zu Dauer, Voraussetzungen und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten für Arbeitnehmer und Betriebe."
- **Impact:** Correct meta for search snippets, schema, Open Graph

### 2. Excerpt & Meta Description Alignment
- **Issue:** `meta.description` had missing comma: "Dauer Voraussetzungen"
- **Fix:** Aligned both to: "Was ein Sabbatical ist und wie du es richtig planst. Alle Infos zu Dauer, Voraussetzungen und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten für Arbeitnehmer und Betriebe."
- **Impact:** Consistent meta across all contexts

### 3. Typo Corrections
- **für sie Finanzierung → für die Finanzierung:** Gender error (in both content.html and content.text)
- **Die klärt → Das klärt:** Missing subject; "Das" refers to the preceding explanation about Sozialversicherung (in both content.html and content.text)

### 4. Grammar Fix
- **Issue:** "Die Anmeldung des Sabbaticals erfolgt zwischen zwei Jahre bis zu sechs Jahre vor dessen Antritt" (ungrammatical mix of "zwischen" and "bis")
- **Fix:** "erfolgt zwei bis sechs Jahre vor dessen Antritt" (in main content and FAQs)
- **Impact:** Correct German phrasing

### 5. internal_links Array Cleanup
- **Issue:** `internal_links` had 8 phantom entries (Personalabteilung, Geldwerter Vorteil, Arbeitsplan, Gastronomie, Gesundheitswesen) – none present in content
- **Content links:** Arbeitszeitkonto, Überstunden, Kündigung (all to /insights/lexikon/)
- **Fix:** Retained only the 3 links that exist in content; removed Ahrefs-specific fields (normalized_url, target_type, priority, added_at, reasoning) for consistency with simpler pattern
- **Impact:** Per PATCHWORK_REWORK_CHECKLIST – internal_links must match content.html + FAQ answers

### 6. secondary_keywords Cleanup
- **Issue:** Irrelevant keywords: "sabbatical homes" (vacation rental), "dating sabbatical" (relationship break), "sabbatical geschenk" (gift – off-topic)
- **Fix:** Removed sabbatical homes, dating sabbatical, sabbatical geschenk; removed duplicate "sabbatical" from secondary (already primary)
- **Kept:** sabbatical deutsch, sabbatical definition, sabbatical vorbereiten, sabbatical planen, sabbatical ideen, sabbatical vertrag muster

### 7. modified_date
- **Fix:** Updated to `2026-02-11T12:00:00+00:00` to reflect rework date

## Validation Performed

- JSON syntax validated
- Blog backup created (`docs/backups/blog-snapshots/2026-02-11-130515`)
- Web research: Beamte/öffentlicher Dienst have gesetzlicher Anspruch (AZV §7b); content accurate
- HBR external link verified: David Burkus article still live at hbr.org

## Web Research Findings

- **Beamte/Tarifbeschäftigte:** AZV §7b (Bundesbeamte); Landesregelungen in allen 16 Bundesländern; gesetzlicher Anspruch bestätigt
- **Model:** Teilzeitbeschäftigung mit nachfolgender Freistellung; 2/3 bis 1/19 Arbeitszeit; typisch 1 Jahr Freistellung nach Ansparphase
- **Content accuracy:** Existing content aligns with legal sources

## Not Changed (Intentional)

- **HBR external link:** Kept – David Burkus article adds value; nofollow optional but not required for single outbound link
- **data-mil attributes:** Present on Arbeitszeitkonto, Überstunden, Kündigung links; left as-is (removal not in scope for this patchwork)
- **FAQs:** No structural changes; grammar fix "zwischen zwei bis sechs Jahre" → "zwei bis sechs Jahre" applied in FAQ answers
- **Related posts, clusters:** Unchanged
